DualEnroll is a product of CourseMaven, an educational technology software company located in the Washington, DC suburbs. CourseMaven was founded in 2010 by a team of software industry veterans with extensive experience in higher education. DualEnroll has been used by colleges and universities since it’s launch in 2012.
Janet Van Pelt, Founder/CEO, has held leadership roles in several successful education technology and internet companies. She previously founded Echo360, the leading provider of enterprise lecture capture in higher education now deployed at over 800 colleges and universities worldwide.
Mark Jones, Chief Product Officer, has worked in higher education throughout his career, including stints at Pearson, the National Student Clearinghouse, and Echo360. His most recent role was as Chief Product Officer of Ellucian, where he was responsible for the entire product suite including Banner, Colleague and Recruit and conceptualized the Ethos integration framework.
Based on their understanding of the college environment, the DualEnroll team recognized that legacy student systems didn’t support the needs of dual/concurrent programs and built the DualEnroll platform to fill this gap. It’s cloud-based platform combines an intuitive user interface with a highly configurable workflow engine that seamlessly exchanges data with student systems as necessary. This allows colleges to create an efficient and intuitive user experience for students, high school partners and internal staff while maintaining the integrity of the student system as the system of record where required.
DualEnroll is used by a wide range of colleges including Boise State University, Ivy Tech Community College, Kirkwood Community College, Missouri State University, the Virginia Community College System, the Community College System of New Hampshire, and the College of Western Idaho. The first two colleges to use DualEnroll are still active customers 8 years later.
